A TEENAGER has been taken to hospital after a serious crash involving a horse and cart.
Police were called to the incident at 10:48pm last night, June 30.
The crash involved a black Mercedes Vito and a horse pulling a 'sulky' - a two-wheeled horse-drawn cart.
The crash happened on the north-bound A6 between Penrith and Milestone House.
A 16-year-old male, who was on the sulky, was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle, with serious injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
Two further people who were on the sulky suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes suffered minor injuries.
Police are appealing for anyone with information, dashcam footage or who witnessed the collision to contact PS 1962 Vickers or PC 2743 Bruce by calling 101 or emailing SCIU@cumbria.police.uk.
