Emergency services on scene as fire breaks out in town centre pub
POLICE and fire crews have tackled a fire in Whitehaven town centre.
Cumbria Police confirmed that they have assisted firefighters at the scene of a blaze at the Barra Jacks pub on James street, Whitehaven.
The fire is believed to have been behind caused by an electrical fault behind the bar.
Reports have come in that staff were evacuated safely and the area was sealed off.
Traffic is said to be held up around the town as emergency services deal with this ongoing incident.
Firefighters were seen clearing up the scene after the fire had been extinguished before 7pm.
