LEADERS in politics and business will convene at the Transport for the North meeting this week, setting out their stall to continue acting as "one voice" for the region.

Board members are set to discuss their stance on the Government's major infrastructure projects as well as their strategy for the year ahead.

Transport for the North is hailed as a "regional centre of excellence for strategic transport planning."

As well as discussing the transport body's budget for the forthcoming financial year, members will discuss their Business Plan which will set out priorities for 2022/23.

TfN's 2022/23 Business Plan will continue the focus on:

- Being a centre of technical excellence for the North.

- Acting as a source of trusted information.

- Offering strategic thought leadership and championing strategic transport planning

- Enabling accelerated delivery

- Being a trusted collaborator.

The Board will also be given updates from the Rail North Committee on the performance of the train operators and discuss the HS2 Phase 2B Bill which is currently being considered by Parliament.
