A busy Carlisle community centre has been left without any volunteers since the Covid lockdown.

The Currock centre has a busy schedule of events but is appealing for some help.Centre assistant Karen said: "With the pandemic and lockdown we lost all our volunteers and really need some to come forward."

She said most helpful would be someone available to take on a caretaker-type role to assist with general light maintenance of the premises and garden.

The centre is also looking for people to become general assistants for help at events and some day-to-day activities.

One of the oldest community centres in the country, Currock was opened in 1934.

It is used most days of the week with a playgroup, Yoga, exercises of all types and all levels of fitness, school holiday programmes , boxing, theatre, meetings and more.
