A CROWN court judge is to deal with the case of a man accused of both a robbery and burgling a Carlisle bingo hall.

David Pattinson, 31, did not formally enter pleas to either charge when he appeared before magistrates at the city’s Rickergate court. The two allegations he faces both relate to events on August 7 last year.

The first is that he robbed a woman of £1,221 at the Coral Bookmakers in Denton Street, Denton Holme; and the second charge is that he entered Opera Bingo in Denton Holme as a trespasser with intent to steal.

Magistrates sent the case to Carlisle Crown Court for a plea hearing which will take place on July 22.

In the meantime, the defendant was remanded in custody. No address was given in court for the defendant but he formerly lived at Baird Road, Carlisle.
