WHITEHAVEN coastguard were cast with four call outs in just 24 hours yesterday-from working with police, to rescueing broken down vessels in need of help.
In a 24 hour period from June 15, to June 16 the team were tasked by their coordination centre Belfast Coastguard to respond to 4 callouts, alongside colleagues from Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team.
On Wednesday, June 15 the team were tasked to assist Cumbria Police with an incident in the Workington area.
Later that day, they were also tasked to a broken down vessel off Workington.
The vehicle was safely recovered by Workington Lifeboat whilst we attended to give safety advice and collect the relevant information.
Yesterday, June 16 the team were retasked to assist Cumbria Police with incident in the Workington area.
Whilst working on that incident, they were also tasked to a Rope Rescue, following reports of a person having fallen from the cliff path and part way down the cliff at St Bees.
The person confirmed to have self recovered and were safe and well in the care of the ambulance service. Assets were redeployed back to Workington.
