THIS weekend an extra special Platinum Jubilee party was organised in Bitts Park in Carlisle.
Thousands of residents flocked to the park to enjoy the attractions that were on offer.
Families visited stalls, some selling food and refreshments, with others showed items relating to the history of Her Majesty's reign.
Luke Leathers, head of communities and wellbeing for Carlisle City Council, said: "Turnout is fantastic, we've got several thousand people here, and we've got all the different community groups from around Carlisle who have helped organise it.
He added that it's all about getting the community together.

The day began at 10:30am with a screening of the popular family movie Encanto about a family living in the mountains of Colombia who who are in a magical place called Encanto.
Families sat all around the big screen with their children eagerly watching the film.
Other youngsters were occupied with getting their faces painted and enjoying cold drinks and cakes.
Fire engines from the Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service also paid a visit and sounded their horns, much to the excitement of the youths.
At 1pm the whole park was alive with dramatic music as the screen showed footage of the beacons being lit around the county earlier in the weekend.

This marked the start of a parade by Multicultural Cumbria, as people from all walks of life came together to march through the park.
Flags from countries all across the world were displayed as band played instruments and 'dragons' paraded through the park.
At 3pm there was a screening of the Jubilee Pagaent live from London.
Miriam Low of Carlisle Vineyards, one of the event partners, said: "We've come down to create a celebration for the jubilee.
"The Queen - as everyone's been saying - what an amazing woman she is and a job she's done, and we wanted to be part of the celebrations.
"But also just recognising that it's one of the first bigger events to be able to come together as a community after Covid and lockdown, so we really wanted to put on a celebration for the city."
