CUMBRIA Police have advised that the tanker that overturned on the A5086 has been recovered and it is safe for residents near the vicinity to open their windows following a spillage.
The tanker overturned at 7.30am Friday (May 27) near Eaglesfield Paddle CE Primary Academy. The road had to close which affected traffic between Cockermouth and Egremont with motorists.
However police have advised that the road remains closed while repairs are undertaken.
A police spokesman said: "The overturned tanker on the A5086 has been recovered.
"Residents in Paddle Primary School, Brandlingill, Low Lorton, High Lorton and Littlethwaite can now open windows and doors should they wish to.
"The A5086 will remain closed whilst repairs are carried out to the road."
