INCIDENT: Took place on Close Street.
A MAN and a woman have been arrested following an assault on a man on Close Street, yesterday evening (May 24).
The victim, in his 40s, suffered a minor head injury during the incident and was taken to the Cumberland infirmary, police have confirmed.
A spokesperson from Cumbria Constabulary said: "A 61-year-old man from Carlisle was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.
"A 46-year-old woman from Carlisle was arrested on suspicion of common assault on an emergency worker and possession of a controlled drug of Class A.
"Both have been released under investigation," they said.
