CUMBRIA Police officers in the Copeland area have been increasing foot patrols in and around Whitehaven.
This is being done as part of a new campaign to protect women and girls against violence.
A spokesperson from Cumbria Police said: "Officers from Copeland neighbourhood Policing Team were out on foot patrol in Whitehaven town centre last night. As part of the Violence against Women and Girls campaign."
