A LONGTOWN man has pleaded not guilty to an alleged assault during which prosecutors say he brandished a pair of scissors.
Christopher Hogg, 46, who denies doing anything of the sort, formally pleaded not guilty to the assault by beating allegation when he appeared before magistrates at Carlisle’s Rickergate court.
Prosecutors say the attack happened on a female victim in Carlisle on November 17 last year while the defendant was allegedly intoxicated.
After case management discussions, magistrates adjourned the trial until June 21, granting bail to the defendant, who was represented by defence lawyer Kate Hunter.
Hogg’s address was given in court as Arthuret Drive, Longtown.
