Construction is due to start soon on luxury lodges near Workington, which will go on the market starting at £349,000.
Sixteen "luxury, high-end sustainable lodges" will be built at Winscales. Work is expected to take three months.
"The plan for Lillyhall is to have 16 luxury, high-end sustainable lodges with views towards the mountains of the Lake District," said a spokesman from leisure developer Actually Group, which bought the land which had a price tag of £1.1m.
"Construction is due to start in the next few weeks and Actually Group will be taking pre-orders from May.
"The lodges will be designed for open plan, outdoor living and include hot tubs.
"All the lodges will have a view of the water feature that will be installed in the centre of the retreat."
The site, which was formerly used as equestrian land and is adjacent to Cumberland Lodge, was acquired from a private vendor.
It was sold with planning permission for 15 holiday lodges, an office, recycling area and parking.
The Actually Group said earlier this year it will invest more than £1m to transform it into an 'upmarket holiday lodge destination'.
The company says it specialises in low-carbon and environmentally-sensitive holiday developments.
Lodges will be priced from £349,000, said the spokesman.
Andy Sutton, CEO at the Actually Group, said: “Visitors love the western Lakes for its rugged unspoiled beauty, and because it is significantly more peaceful than the tourist hotspots of the southern Lakes.
“With its stunning backdrop of timeless landscapes, and a real sense of being off the beaten track, we believe that there will be a significant market for our low-carbon luxury lodges at Winscales.”
The company has release images of the type of lodges they will be offering for sale.
