More Covid related deaths continue to be seen in Cumbria despite lockdown restrictions having been lifted for months now.

There were three more Covid deaths recorded over the bank holiday weekend in Carlisle.

The government dashboard shows 402 people had died in the area by May 3 (Tuesday) – up from 399 on Friday (April 29).

These figures include anyone who died within 28 days of a positive Covid infection, and whose usual residence is in Carlisle.

Figures reported after a weekend are likely to be lower as a result of a lag in reporting deaths.

These deaths form part of 152,433 deaths throughout England up to May 3, 367 more than what was recorded on Friday (April 29).

A total of 152,433 deaths were recorded throughout England by May 3 (Tuesday) – up from 152,066 on Friday.
