A BANNED driver has been prosecuted for illegally riding on an e-scooter on London Road in Carlisle.
Michael Lowry, 41, who was caught on December 11, pleaded guilty to that offence and to using a motor vehicle with no valid insurance when he appeared before magistrates at the city’s Rickergate court.
After hearing the details, magistrates imposed a 36-month ban and told Lowry, of Millholme Avenue, Currock, that he must complete 300 hours of unpaid work in the community as punishment.
He must also pay £85 prosecution costs and a £95 victim surcharge. For the no-insurance offence, the defendant’s driving record was endorsed.
Lowry was represented by defence lawyer Anthony Wilson.
