MAGISTRATES have approved a 28-day domestic violence protection order which bans a Cleator Moor man from contacting a woman.
Jordan Malcolm Dobson, 30, of Greenthwaite, who was not present for the police application when it was made at Carlisle’s Rickergate court, is now prohibited from having any contact with a named woman.
He is also forbidden to threaten her with violence and from entering the street in Whitehaven where the woman lives.
Such orders are made when a court, on the balance of probabilities, believes the protected party has suffered violence or the threat of violence.
The order – applied for by Cumbria Police - lasts until midnight on May 24. Breaching such an order would be a criminal offence.
