CUMBRIA Police are appealing for witnesses after three male teenagers attempted to rob a 9-year-old boy in broad daylight in Carlisle City Centre on Easter Monday. 

The incident took place at the junction of Sewell Road and Ridley Road, at around 12.45pm on Monday April 18.

The three male suspects have been wearing dark coloured tracksuit style clothing and have worn face coverings during the incident.

A spokesperson from Cumbria Police said: "The incident involved three males believed to be aged around 15 years old. The three males have attempted a robbery on a 9-year-old boy."  

"The victim was not injured and no property was taken."

Police say they are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have CCTV footage or information that will help them identify the suspects.
