A LORRY driver was fined near Penrith for using mobile phone on the A66 at Penrith.
Eden Police pulled him over and the driver admitted to taking a call on his mobile phone whilst on the road.
The driver was hit with a £200 fine and six penalty points on his driving licence.
A spokesman said: "This HGV driver thought it would be acceptable to take a call whilst driving on the A66 at Penrith without a hands free kit.
"This is dangerous & unacceptable. Driver stopped and admitted taking a call from a customer. 6 points & £200 fine.
