A MAN has been brought before a court for being drunk and disorderly in a town centre.

Thomas Stanaway, 21, of Lonsdale Place, Whitehaven, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

He appeared at Workington Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The offence took place in Whitehaven town centre on March 19.

Stanaway was given a six-month conditional discharge. 

He must pay £85 costs and a £22 victim surcharge.
