KAYLIE Ross - Carlisle’s answer to Mrs Hinch - gave us a look into her life as a domestic cleaner and what her job is really like.

Kaylie is the owner of cleaning company ‘Peachy Clean’ which she started up two and a half years ago.

She said: “After having two children my previous career was not flexible and didn't work around family life, not giving the all-important work life balance.

"I've always had a passion for cleaning and with a new challenge needed it was too good of an opportunity not to do something I knew I would enjoy.

News and Star:

"When I clean for my customers, I feel like I have helped them massively. I feel like I take the stress away for them, so they can spend quality family time together without worry about housework.

"I also like to see a difference and to hear my feedback from my customers, there's nothing better than getting a message from them when they get home from work with positive comments and feedback.”

The job doesn’t come without it’s grime and tough days however, with Kaylie saying: “As you can see, there are some people who haven’t hoovered in years, but I never ever judge, no matter what I see.

"I go inside the houses and see grime that’s built up for years, but it's as simple as - lots of people don’t have time to clean or they find it difficult.

"I’ve seen some interesting things over the past few years, but I’ve never judged and understand that everyone has different circumstances.

News and Star:

"Any domestic tasks would not be refused by me, I would enjoy the challenge. But on some occasions professional equipment and chemicals are needed.”

A big part of starting her business was to help with people’s mental health, as she believes being in a clean space is better for the mind.

She said: "Long before I was a cleaner I always thought to myself a clean house helps keep a clear mind which I find very true.

"A clean house is proven to reduce stress and anxiety.

"I've had customers past and present who have messaged me saying I help with their mental well-being.”
