Eden District Council is making £20,000 available through its Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Fund 2022 to assist groups to organise events for the occasion. 

The money will be made available to parish and and town councils, community groups and individuals hoping to mark the occassion. 

Grants of £500 for smaller events are available whilst up to £1,000 for larger events is available for constituted groups only. With minimum match funding of 20%, are being made available to anyone wishing to organise events, or activities such as street parties, tree planting, or coffee mornings, particularly over the Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend. 

Eden District Council’s Communities Portfolio Holder, Councillor. Lissie Sharp, said, "Already Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II celebrates an historic 70 years on the throne in 2022 and people across Eden will want to join the nation in marking her Majesty’s remarkable achievement.

"Eden District Council wants to play its part in commemorating the Queen’s astonishing service to our country and is making money available to help individuals and community groups organise events and activities for their local communities."

Applications will be considered from the week commencing Monday, March 14 2022, though funding will not be paid to successful applicants until after April 1 2022.
