THE POPULAR ‘Post Mortem Live’ event is making its way to Carlisle.

It’s an 'immersive exhibit the general public can interact with' when it comes to toxicology and pathology; event-goers even have a chance to undertake a synthetic dissection themselves to explore the full experience.

It takes place on February 22 2022 at Court Square, Carlisle.

‘The Post Mortem Live’ offers students and the general public an insight into the 'fascinating world of pathology and post mortems', and is led by award-winning human anatomist Samuel Piri and his clinical team.

Using VIVIT - the worlds only semi-synthetic human cadaver - attendees can witness an immersive and interactive post mortem where they'll examine the body to identify the pinnacle cause of death.

This year they're covering the themes of observation, records and investigative approach, external examination, head and neck examination and dissection and abdominal examination and dissection.

It’s been seen on BBC, Discovery Channel & Medicplayer and the NHS, who said: "This is the closest thing you'll get to a real human body dissection. It’s unreal, interesting and educational."

One attendee, Stephanie Hodginson, said: "Amazing experience, very interactive and thorough. Realistic cadaver and real organs utilised for dissection. Would highly recommend."

The event is open to undergraduate students, non-students and the general public. Attendees must be 16 years of age.
