THE darkest crimes are set to be explored when a ‘serial killers and psychopaths night’ comes to Carlisle.

The evening, to be held at Tullie House on February 18, is a night that promises to 'give you the creeps, pique your interest, and even give you your own ‘psychopathy test’'.

Host Cheish Merryweather became obsessed with serial killers when she was young, before social media was full of true crime.

In 2019, she decided to turn her ‘odd obsession’ into something bigger, so she began her ‘serial killer’ talks. Cheish began doing small talks with audiences around the UK, starting at Newcastle. She now speaks to hundreds of audience members.

This is her third year coming back to Carlisle.

The talk explores the most ghoulish known killers, and includes interviews with the most dangerous.

This year there’s a focus on John Wayne Gacy Jr, the 'clown killer', and Ed Kemper, the 6-foot-9 giant who committed his vicious crimes during the 60s and 70s.

Cheish said: "Every year we make it different. This year we’re discussing killer couples and the 'seven stages of evil' - psychiatric evaluations, courtroom transcripts, witness testimonies, crime scene evidence and criminal profiles.

"If you’re into true crime it’s the perfect night for you.

"It’s a great night, and the more people that come the better it is, as it does have an audience-focus. This is an interesting event which also makes you realize that there’s more of us who are obsessed with true crime! So we can all get together and share our weird obsession together."
