A charity based in Carlisle have held a Christmas tree collection and have managed to raise thousands for their cause.

This week Hospice at Home collected over 1200 Christmas trees throughout north Cumbria and raised £14,000 for their cause.

A spokesperson from the charity said: "The appeal raised almost £14,000 which will help us continue to provide local support to local people. We would like to thank all of our partners for their support throughout the appeal, with a special thanks going to Lloyd Motor Group for sponsoring the event. We couldn't have done this without the support of all of our partners."
