A TRIAL date has been set for a 31-year-old man who has formally denied robbing a pizza delivery worker.
At Carlisle Crown Court, Tjay O'Neil, entered a not guilty plea to the allegation, which prosecutors say happened on Briar Bank, Belah, where the defendant lives, on August 23 last year.
Prosecutors say that the victim was sitting his Mercedes car when the offence was committed. It is alleged that two men - one armed with a knife - jumped into the car and threatened to stab the man.
When the alleged victim got out of his Mercedes, the robbers sped off, say prosecutors.
Recorder Anna Vigars QC said O'Neil will face a trial which is likely to last two days.
This is expected to get underway on June 8. In the meantime, O'Neil was remanded in custody.
