MAGISTRATES have imposed an 18-month community order on a Workington man after he admitted assaulting a police constable.
Nathan Anthony Lancaster, 29, of Briery Dale, Workington, committed the offence in the town on June 4 last year.
After hearing the details at the town's Ramsay Brow court, magistrates sentenced the defendant to a community order which includes up to 15 activity days with the Probation Service and 120 hours unpaid work.
Lancaster must also pay £85 costs and a £95 victim surcharge.
The defendant's guilty plea was taken into account and he was represented in court by defence lawyer Sean Harkin.
