Cumbria County Council are giving people the chance to beat their winter blues by offering mindfulness classes.
Mindfulness is a technique based on awareness of our thoughts and surroundings which is said to help people become more self-aware, calmer and less stressed.
A spokesperson from the council said: "With cold, dark days and a stretch to pay day, January can be a bit of a struggle. It can also be a month of optimism – with new resolutions and motivation to make positive changes. Adult Learning are offering a series of Mindfulness workshops online and face-to-face in centres across the county as part of their Health & Wellbeing offering."
