A TWENTY-three-year-old Carlisle man has been remanded in custody as he awaits his trial on two assault allegations.
Sheldon Harry James O'Neil, of Bousteads Grassing, has denied both assaults.
Prosecutors say that he assaulted both a man and a woman by beating them on November 13 last year. Both alleged offences are said to have happened in Carlisle.
Magistrates ruled that the defendant will be remanded in custody until his trial, which is due to take place on the afternoon of January 18. He was represented in court by defence lawyer John Smith.
