AN animal charity is appealing for people to open their homes to pets in desperate need of loving care.

RSPCA West Cumbria has a number of cats and dogs ready to be fostered or re-homed.

Charley, a four-year-old black and white cat, and Jet a three-year-old black lurcher, are desperate for a new home as they are both in kennels.

Jet has some separation anxiety, so new adopters need to be around most of the time or he may become destructive.

Jet’s really friendly, such a big softy, just wants to please. He’s good in the car, and clean in the house.

He needs a new home without children, or visiting children, under 12. He’s a big lump and can easily accidentally knock a small human over.

Jet needs a firm hand, he’s young and strong. He’d be best rehomed with no other dogs, and definitely no cats or small furries, due to his prey drive.

He needs some ongoing training, though he walks nicely on the lead, and his off lead recall is good. It’s essential Jet has plenty of off lead exercise, he’s just jam packed full of energy.

He’s very exuberant when meeting other dogs on walks. He’s not nasty, just likes to play.

Charley is a gentle soul who can spook easily so will need a quieter household, adult only or with older children. Once Charley knows he's safe he can relax and be his best self.

He is a lovely natured chap who enjoys a chin scratch and head rub. He has recently been neutered.

Cats Barry and Robin are to be rehomed together as they are bonded five-month-old kittens that have recovered from cat flu.

Englebert, Tina and Freddie are kittens also looking for their forever homes. They were born in care to a stray mother.

RSPCA West Cumbria is in desperate need of potential foster parents who could provide loving care to pregnant females and their babies. More foster parents are needed for dogs, cats and small furry animals.
