Carlisle bookshop announces their top ten most purchased books of 2021.
Out of the ten most popular reader's choices, eight are from local authors or are books based about the local area.
Bookends, located on Castle Street, wrote on Facebook: "We pride ourselves on our huge range of Cumbrian and Lake District titles and we love being able to support local authors, so we're chuffed to see that you've enjoyed reading these books too."
Of the top 10, included Cumbrian born authors M.W Craven, James Rebanks, Hannah Jackson, Roger Lytollis and columnist and BBC Masterchef critic Grace Dent.
With books about the lakes and Carlisle's streets also made their way into the winning pile.
Out with the Cumbrian selection, Bob Mortimer's 'And Away' and Richard Osman's 'The Murder Club' also made the popular reads amongst Carlisle residents.
Bookends wrote: "Thank you to all of our wonderful customers who have shopped with us and ordered from us this year."
