Silloth Tigers have shared their delight after holding a charity golf day over the festive period.

Organised in conjunction with The BANTY Trotters, the Tigers’ charity day took place on December 27, in the hopes of raising £3,000 between the MS Society and The Great North Children’s Hospital.

Speaking after the event, club secretary Jimmy Lettice BEM said: “I want to say a massive thanks to all those who kindly donated to the event, a big thanks to Kyla and her staff for looking after us all and to the golf club and Simon in the pro-shop for putting up with us for the afternoon.

The organisers and I cannot forget the main man Jonny Martin who not only stood in at last minute to host the prize giving and charity auction, but alongside Jonathan Tallontire won the competition with a crazy 51 points.”

Sharing that the day generated nearly double the desired amount, Jimmy shared: “The winner on the day was of course the two charities we had chosen, The MS Society and The Sick Children’s Trust with a staggering £5,000 plus raised to split 50/50. The final figures will come later on but I’d just like to say thank you.”
