Firefighters were called to cut a casualty out of a vehicle after a crash that happened opposite a primary school.
A crew from Carlisle West Fire Station was called out at 1pm today to assist colleagues from Annan and Lockerbie fire stations after a crash on Annan Road in Gretna.
Paramedics were also called to the incident, which involved a Citroen Cactus and a Mitsubishi, and police closed off the road in both directions.
A spokesperson from Carlisle West Fire Station said there was one casualty in the incident who was "complaining of a lot of pain" on arrival.
Firefighters cut the car open to remove the casualty, fearing they may have suffered pelvic and spinal injuries.
The spokesperson added that the team "had to remove the roof to keep the casualty in line" when removing them from the car.
The casualty was then taken to hospital by the ambulance crew.
There were no other reported casualties.
