Allerdale Police have spent the past few weeks cracking down on bad behaviour in the area.
As part of their ‘Allerdale Focus’ programme, the police conducted an operation during the past month across Aspatria, Cockermouth, Maryport, Wigton and Workington where their officers conducted dedicated patrols to prevent and investigate crime and anti-social behaviour.
Organisations work together in the Allerdale Local Focus Hub to work with local communities in tackling anti-social behaviour.
The Hub, which brings together a number of agencies such as Cumbria Police, Allerdale Borough Council, housing associations and more, spend time in locations across the area speaking to members of the community about issues in the area.
The operation consisted of both officers on foot patrol and in vehicles.
The police engaged with local businesses in Maryport to understand any concerns they may have and were pleased to hear that there were no concerns. They have said that they will continue to work closely with businesses and residents to ensure they know that we are here to support them.
Operations as part of Allerdale Focus will continue to take place.
