A DISTRICT judge has approved a "stalking protection order" against a 31-year-old Penrith man.
Cumbria Police applied for the order for Daniel Keeley, of West View, Penrith, telling magistrates at Carlisle's Rickergate court that he had carried out "acts associated with stalking."
These acts included "unannounced visits, unwanted calls and texts and filing police reports against the victim."
The application stated also that Keeley posed a risk of stalking and the order was necessary to protect the person involved.
Court records name the woman the order is designed to protect.
But the court record states that Keeley is now banned for five years from having any contact with the woman - either by social media, text or phone.
Contact will be allowed through an official court official.
Any breach of the order - which is civil in its nature - would be a criminal offence.
The defendant was present for the police application.
