THE Labour Party candidate Christopher Alan Wills has won the vacant council seat in the Carlisle City Council ward of Currock and Upperby following yesterday's election.
The results were as follows:
LAB: 57.5% (+20.7)
CON: 37.2% (+22.2)
GRN: 5.3% (-6.3)
The result was welcomed by former council leader Colin Glover.

The other candidates included Tom Adams of the Green Party and Geoff Mitchell of the Conservative Party.
The seat was formerly held by UKIP, who clinched a win in 2019 by one vote.
