An application to turn an area of land near Inglewood Meadows in Wetheral into holiday accommodation with camping pods has been recommended for approval by Carlisle City Council.
The proposal would utilise the existing vehicular access to the land. Within the site, it is also proposed to form a hardstanding area that would serve as a parking area, next to which would be a timber framed bin storage area and timber service building.
Access would then link from the car park to a track to the east that would be formed parallel with the camping pods.
The council said that the principle of holiday accommodation on the site was acceptable in this location. The scheme would be supplemented by additional landscaping and the scale, layout and design would be appropriate to the site.
The plans will be considered by the council's development control committee at a meeting tomorrow.
