More swans are being rescued at a popular park in Carlisle.

This time it was a man from the city council who came to the rescue of a Cygnet Swan that had managed to get itself stuck in a "fenced off area" at Hammonds Pond Park in Carlisle.

A member of the public phoned the RSPCA when they noticed the swan trying to push itself through the fence.

The man from the council, who Friends of Hammonds Pond Park say was called Dave, managed to catch the swan and passed it over to the member of the public who had spotted it.

Friends of Hammonds Pond Park took to social media to express their gratitude, saying it was "very sweet" to see the reunion between the newly-freed swan and the rest of them on the pond.

Thankfully, the swan did not suffer any injuries.
