A WEST Cumbrian motorist has been fined £90 and given points on his licence after he admitted driving carelessly on the A66.
Gavin Huddart, 60, of William Street, Great Clifton, committed the offence on March 4.
Workington's Magistrates' Court heard that he drove his Hyundai Tuscon "erratically" between Keswick and Flusco, crossing solid white lines and veering on the opposite carriageway, narrowly missing a HGV that was coming in the opposite direction.
Magistrates put six points on his licence.
Huddart must also pay £85 costs and a £34 victim surcharge.
The defendant, who originally denied the offence but changed his plea, was not present in court for the hearing.
