For years Wigton has been used as a race track and anti-social drivers continue to cause misery to those who live on their route.

Dozens of vehicles have been stopped after a roadblock was put in place to help tackle the anti-social driving.

The leader of Wigton town Council have praised the police for their work but highlighted that this behaviour will not be tolerated.

Throughout the evening officers stopped 65 vehicles, two were uplifted under section 165 of the Road Traffic Act. Three stop searches were also conducted.
