A CHARITY which supports parents in Cumbria who have a child with autism raised more than £1,300 during its first family fun day.
West Cumbrian-based autism charity, Bee Unique, raised more than £2,500 through their Bee Active Family Fun Day – which after costs leaves them with £1,300 to put towards their activity programme for the next three months.
The event, which took place on September 25, was held at Workington Cricket Ground.
The charity had “fantastic support” from its volunteers, who worked “tirelessly throughout the day”, as well as local businesses including Darling Manor, Rainbow Wishes and Cumbria Super Hero’s.
Several members of West Coast Cos Play gave up their time to support the charity and food was provided by Emma’s Bakes, James Vevers, The Real Urban Grill and Heavenly Fish and Chips.
