A new barber shop has opened this week in Carlisle with a rather unique twist.

Fish n Trims has set up shop on Denton Street is proving popular with customers.

Kieran Fitton has a passion for tropical fish keeping them as a hobby, these are on display around the shop.

Mr Fitton said: "After leaving school in the first year of sixth form I wanted to find a trade that I was interested in.

"I was constantly doing things with my own hair so I figured why not do the same for others.

"I have cut hair for six years now and I have worked over most of Carlisle building a good client base."

After Kieran discovered a gap in the market he seized the opportunity to expand his career as a barber.

He explained that he has always had a dream of opening his own shop and has now been able to fulfill that potential.

Fish n Trimz is currently where Les Gentz Men's Hairdressers was located.

Because of his love for tropical fish he felt that by incorporating this element it would keep the shop interesting.

Making his business unique and setting it aside from other rival barber businesses in Carlisle.

Having only opened this week Fish n Trims has already experienced a great deal of success.

The shop has been fully booked since it opened and the shop is gaining new customers on a daily basis.

It seems that Kieran's talent at being a barber is beginning to get recognised by people around the Carlisle area.

Presumably the tropical fish has also managed to keep people intrigued.

Showing that Kieran's unique approach to the hairdressing business is aleady beginning to pay off with massive rewards.

He explained that it is currently only himself and one other member of staff who are running the business.

But as it seems to be growing Kieran will be looking for more people to get involved.

Kieran added: "Fish n Trims started as a joke between friends and has quickly developed into what I think is a quirky brand name."
