FARMERS play a crucial role in developing a society which is aware of and connected to the food we eat. By hosting groups on farms, they can feed hungry minds, dispel myths, and make a positive impact on both farming and society in general.

The Fellfoot Forward Landscape Partnership Scheme are facilitating these interactions by providing farmers with training and resources to open farms to educational visits and open days.

With this in mind they are hosting the Fellfoot Forward LPS farm educational visits information evening on Tuesday, September 21, from 6 to 9pm.

Join them at Susan’s Farm in Houghton where they will provide information on opening farms to educational groups and therapeutic visits, and accessing funding to do so.

They'll also be sharing details of their upcoming free Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme (CEVAS) courses.

This event is open to both farmers and those looking to bring groups onto farms, such as teachers and youth workers.

The event will be hosted at 145 Houghton Road, Houghton, Carlisle CA3 0LD and dinner is included.

Places are limited so booking is essential, book at: https://www.northpennines.org.uk/event/farm-educational-visits/
