Bristol City have drafted in a new coach on a temporary basis to stand in for ex-Carlisle United boss Paul Simpson.
Curtis Fleming has joined the Championship club to assist boss Nigel Pearson.
The Robins say it is a short-term measure at a time Simpson is away from the club for treatment for renal cell carcinoma.
Fleming has joined on a three-month contract, the Ashton Gate club say.
It was announced earlier this month that Cumbrian coach Simpson was temporarily stepping away from his role.
Bristol City said they looked forward to welcoming him back after his recovery.
The ex-United and England Under-20s manager has received a host of well wishes from across football since news emerged about his health fight.
One of his three sons, Dom, tweeted that the illness had been "caught early" and that there was confidence that "big Simmo will be back on the sidelines soon."
Speaking about the appointment of ex-Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough man Fleming’s appointment on the club website, Pearson said: “I’m really pleased Curtis has agreed to join us. He is a fantastic coach and will work well in our environment, with the group of players we have."
