Following their grand re-opening at a new premises in the city, the owner of one of Carlisle’s top restaurants has hailed the support they have received from the public.

The Royal Outpost was situated on Carlisle’s Botchergate for ten years, however, owner Sharon Nama took the bold decision to move to Warwick Road for a fresh start during the pandemic.

Mr Nama explained the reasons for the move and spoke of his excitement for the project following the venue’s opening earlier this month.

He stated: “This is a much better location for us. We have quite a lot of potential and so this new venue will help us to expand our horizons and go forward.

“Because the new restaurant is on the eye-level for customers, as opposed to the first floor as it was for us at Botchergate, we have more custom. Of course, since we have been trading for ten years, we have built up custom.

“We are feeling positive, we always strive to produce something new all the time, giving a brand new experience to the customers. We are creative and giving that experience to the customers with a modern and contemporary menu. Our aim going forward is to be more creative and create modern dishes while keeping the authenticity of Thai and Asian cuisine.”

With a new menu, including fresh additions both in terms of dishes and drinks, Mr Nama also expanded on how the new restaurant is allowing the venue to expand its offering.

He said: “Our new menu has seen the introduction of new exciting drinks and food. We have introduced Sake, a Japanese wine and Japanese whisky is as good as Scotch whisky!

"We have also introduced some beautiful cocktails. Alongside this, we now have a Ramen section. Introducing modern Asian dishes has added a great touch to the menu.”

He also revealed that the business is on the verge of employing more staff and that he is grateful for the continued support of his staff and loyal customers.

He added: “Although we are not new, everybody was nervous as we are one of the few businesses that has taken this risk to move and invest during the pandemic.

“I would just like to thank all of my staff who have stood by me, have followed me from Botchergate and have been with me during this time. I’m very grateful to have that kind of team with me. As a team, we want to thrive together and do well.

“For the customers, when we were looking at putting together our menu, we realised that some customers wanted some of the old dishes back so within two weeks, I brought back some of the classics to make them happy!I just really want to make everyone happy.”
