Police are appealing for witnesses to a report of sexual assault which occurred on King Street, Whitehaven at 10:30am on Wednesday July 14.
The incident involved a man and a woman.
A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: "It is reported the man made non-consensual sexual contact with the woman as they were passing in the street.
"The man is described as 6ft 1ins tall, in his 60s, of slim build with short grey hair.
"He was wearing a pale blue top, dark jeans and dark shoes.
"Anyone with information relating to this incident can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/reportit , quoting incident number 96 of 14th July 2021.
"You can also phone on 101.
"Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
