A FINE and compensation order were issued to a Carlisle man this week after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer and obstructing her in her duty.
Patrick Donoghue of London Road appeared at North and West Cumbria Magistrates Court in Rickergate this week accused of assault by beating police constable 2850 Davy. In a separate charge it was alleged that he had obstructed her in her duties.
He pleaded guilty to both charges and was issued a £140 fine ordered to pay compensation of £100, a surcharge of £34 and costs of £85 for the assault. He was fined £80 for the obstruction charge.
