Cumbria Police detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward following an incident in Wigton which left a 26-year-old man in hospital with serious injuries.
A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: "Cumbria Police was called at 12.35am on Thursday, July 22, to a report that a man in his 20s had been stabbed in the vicinity of Waver Lane, Wigton.
"Officers attended and three men aged 28, 30 and 18 were arrested on suspicion of assault GBH.
"All three remain in police custody this morning.
"The 26-year-old man was taken to hospital with abdominal injuries which are serious but not believed to be life threatening.
"Detectives are encouraging anyone who witnessed this incident or who has information which may assist to contact police referencing incident number 2 of Thursday, July 22 2021."
