A COUPLE from Penrith enjoyed a heart-warming celebration of their love for each other.

Married on the third anniversary of their first online date, for this young couple, marriage was always on the table.

The bride, Kirsty Nicholson, works in the patient support team at a GP’s surgery, and Dom Davis is an accountant, originally from Broughton.

They married in June at the Cockermouth Town Hall.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, they had decided on a small wedding venue which their immediate families, parents, siblings, nieces and grandparents attended.

They plan on a holding a vow renewal/blessing ceremony in a couple of years with the wedding they had originally planned pre-Covid to go ahead with all their nearest and dearest able to attend.

Dom proposed on a romantic and adventurous trip to Disneyland Paris in September, 2019, and they hope to spend their honeymoon in Florida this September, restrictions permitting.

Kirsty said about the day: “Dominic loves having his photo taken so he was posing at every opportunity.”

And she was right — the couple had many beautiful photos taken of them in the stunning outdoors and in the woodlands on the grounds at Hundith Hill.

The couple were luckily enough for the sun to rear it’s head all day giving the couple the perfect day they had hoped for.

With the Lake District fells in the distance for their reception, it was truly a magnificent place to be.

Kirsty wore a simple but elegant pencil dress from Coast and will wear her actual wedding dress for the full celebration in a couple of years’ time

Her hair was done by Jessica Dewhurst and make-up was by Emma Lusby.

The couple’s wedding rings were supplied by Peter Jackson.

The bride carried a beautiful hand tie of rose and gypsophila collared with eucalyptus.

The groom and fathers of the bride and groom wore rose buttonholes with buttonholes of rose and gypsophila for the mothers of the bride and groom.

All were provided by Appleby Flower Basket.

A small, informal reception was held at Hundith Hill Hotel, near Cockermouth, with a garden drinks reception followed by a delicious three-course meal.

The bride’s cousin, Julie Bell, made the wedding cake, which was a classic, two-layer iced sponge.

The couple’s big day was recorded by the wonderful Peter Ostrowski of Penrith, whose photos captured the magic of the day.
