A former egg packing station in Lazonby could be demolished with the existing land transformed into affordable housing.
In an application submitted to Eden District Council, the applicant Lazonby Parish Council has submitted what they describe as an "informal officer opinion on the principle of residential development on the site".
In plans they state that the scheme would consist of the building of 7 affordable dwellings and demolition of the former Egg Packing Station building located in the centre of Lazonby.
They added their belief that the scheme would represent "The opportunity to deal with a derelict site in the centre of Lazonby and provide much needed affordable homes to the local community.
The also outlined that the project would be funded through public grants: "Lazonby Parish Council is being supported by public grants to enable the proposals to come forward."
