Year 7 and 8 St Bees School pupils helped out for World Oceans Day on June 8 by heading out into Whitehaven Harbour and doing some all-important litter clean up with Whitehaven Harbour Youth Project.

They also learned all about the Seabin project which is developing in the marina to help tackle plastic pollution.

The Seabin Project aims to provide practical and tangible solutions to reduce the plastics in our oceans.

St Bees School said: "We are very proud of the students and Miss Cole for doing such an amazing job removing so much litter.

"Well done, all!"
