Two casualties were taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries in a two vehicle collision.
Police were called at 3:40pm to the report of a two vehicle collision on the B5344 near Moss woods between Seascale and the A595 on Tuesday June 8.
Other emergency services also attended the incident, including GNAAS, Cumbria Fire and Rescue, and the North West Ambulance Service.
Both vehicles - a Peugeot van and a Vauxhall Zafirahave - involved in the collision were on fire.
The driver of the Peugeot a man in his 50s has been taken to Carlisle Infirmary with serious injuries.
The driver of the Vauxhall a women in her 40s has been airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries.
